ReplyDelete1) Grouping was the most difficult part in this chapter because there were lots of ways to group them and it was confusing. The easiest part was finding difference of squares because finding pairs of squares were easy.
2) My math Tutor teacher taught me some tips to solve it easier.
3) Some good strategies are using cross property when you are solving difference of squares or just finding factors.

1. The easiest was probably the GCF because some problems, we just had to find the GCF. The most difficult was the grouping because we had to go through so many steps to get to the final answer.
ReplyDelete2. My private tutor usually helps me with my homework when I have trouble and helps me study for tests/quizzes.
3. Some good strategies were skipping some sections ^^... However, we could go over the concepts step by step instead of learning the concepts as we solve the problems
1) The hardest part was the properties where we learned about reflexive, commutative, associative and etc. It was a very new thing to me. The easiest was the simple algebra part. It was easy for me because it was one of the most basic thing in the lessons.
ReplyDelete2) I kinda went through the textbook when i first received it. So I could know what I would learn this year. If there was a part that i did not know through out the textbook, I asked my math tutor to teach me certain parts that were new to me.
3)I try to finish my homework in class. Then, at home, instead of doing homework, I read the next unit to know what is going to come out next.
1) For me, grouping was the most difficult because there were so many ways to do it; I couldn't figure out one problem for almost 7 or 8 minutes! Should I start with GCF, difference of squares, etc.? Everything else was pretty easy though, and I think I know how to do the grouping thing now.
ReplyDelete=)
2) I haven't been able to do much studying in math due to the large numbers of tests and quizzes I have had recently in other subjects. Luckily, all the material that we covered so far have been things that I already knew, so I was able to do pretty well. I hope to do some harder math problems as well as some geometry this Winter Break.
3) Sometimes, I just memorize some formulas to make things easier for me, such as (a+b) squared equals a squared + 2ab + b squared, and the quadratic formula. This memorizing of some formulas makes it easier for me to solve some problems, such as the factoring we did this chapter.

ReplyDelete1. The hardest part was factoring polynomials with 4 terms because there are numerous ways I need to try. However, distributive property was the easiest.
2. I already learned these, so it was not hard.
3. I think you will need to preview the lesson and examples on book before class, so you get some ideas before learning in class.
I think the most difficult task was factoring polynomials and expressing it as difference of squares because it confused me since there were different signs that were inside the polynomials we were supposed to factor. The easiest task was finding the GCF because I can find out easily by dividing some numbers.
ReplyDelete2. I usually referred back to the notes and if I still didn't get it, I asked Mr. Jobe. When I am out of class, I got help from my private insitute, or hagwon.
3. I'd keep refer back to the notes we took in class and I read what is ahead of what we are learning.
1) We have covered a lot of ground so far in this class. Out of all of the concepts we've covered, what has been the most difficult for you to grasp? What has been the easiest? Why?
ReplyDeleteA: Showing proof with properties or definitions in Algebra was the most difficult to grasp because it was hard to match the statement with the correct property/ definition when there were so many exceptions and properties/ definitions. Finding the GCF and prime factorization have been the easiest because I have learned it and done it in my past years of education.
2) What strategies have helped you keep up with the material in this fast-moving course? Is there anything you do inside or outside of class that helps you?
A: Studying and previewing and solving all of the questions in each lesson with my tutor helped me keep up with the material in this fast-moving course.
3) This course will continue to move at a quick pace. What are some good strategies that are already being used in class to help you understand the material? What improvements could be made in class to better help you understand the material?
A: I participate in answering important problems in class and write important test-problems down on my notebook. I should pay attention a little more.

1) The most difficult part in this chapter was grouping because I had to try every formula several times to get to the final answer, which took a lot of time and effort. The easiest part was finding the GCF. We've already learned how to find the GCF of terms so it wasn't hard at all.
ReplyDelete2) I went over the questions that I missed and asked Mr. Jobe about the questions that I couldn't understand. I asked my mom for help but she didn't help a lot. :(
3) Note taking, in my opinion, is the best way to learn and memorize new stuff. Reading the textbook beforehand might help me to.
grouping was the most difficult and the GCF was the easiest grouping was the hard part because you have to find what way to group them from a lot of differnt ways
ReplyDeletei just study alone because i hate sitting in a chair with a tutor so i do most of my work alone but if ihave a question i ask my brother's tutor or my brother
i do most of my hw ar school and study for the next lesson at school
1::::::: The hardest concept would have been the two chapters with the charts. They're a pain in my... head!!! :D The easiest of the chapters were ... none. They were all... sort of challenging.
ReplyDelete2::::::: There's nothing outside of school that I go to such as hagwons. :D Strategies? Everything Mr. Jobe taught us and my old school.
3::::::: I have to review math every single night, even though algebra wasn't occuring that day. I need to pay GOOD attention. Well more than I am right now. :D yepp, that's all.
-Jane was here. :D
The hardest chapters was probably Chapter 5, because everything wasn't set up for you. The factorizing took a long time for me also. The easiest chapters were the first ones, because they were basic review chapters from 7th grade. I don't remember specifically what any other chapters were about.
ReplyDeleteI go to an extra math hakwon outside of school, where the teacher is pretty up to date about what we do in math class in school. My hawon is kind of my review session
I think I'll have to ask more questions more often, because I can't always speak to my hakwon teacher every day.

ReplyDelete1) We have covered a lot of ground so far in this class. Out of all of the concepts we've covered, what has been the most difficult for you to grasp? What has been the easiest? Why?
-I think the most difficult concepts for me was Chapter 3 and 4, which was transforming formulas, and using punnett squares to solve word problems. The punnett squares were very confusing, beside having to set up an equation for our problem, we also had to organize our information into categories. On the other hand, the most easiest concept for me was Chapter 2, since it was mainly based on real numbers and simplifying expressions, which I already had experience on.
2) What strategies have helped you keep up with the material in this fast-moving course? Is there anything you do inside or outside of class that helps you?
-I attend math hagwon four times a week but I think I need more practice..
3) This course will continue to move at a quick pace. What are some good strategies that are already being used in class to help you understand the material? What improvements could be made in class to better help you understand the material?
-I think the games give me a chance to review our class materials thoroughly. I think reading the lesson for our next-class will help.
The most difficult concept for me to grasp was solving word problems, especially using charts. Some questions were very confusing and took me some time to figure out how to set up the equation and solve the problem. One other thing that was difficult was factoring. Those also took some time for me to master, and I'm not even sure if I've mastered them yet.
ReplyDeleteOne concept that I could grasp fairly quickly was finding the variables. I don't know why this was the easiest but it was. Perhaps it is because that concept was an easy concept to understand in general.
I don't do anything outside of class that would help me with math. Whenever I have a question I can't solve and it's too late to ask Mr.Jobe, I go to my dad who is very good at math. :) When I get my homework checked and get some questions wrong, I always try doing them again until I get the right answer. At home, when I have time I do some extra practice using questions that weren't for homework.
I really like how we always take the time to review over materials before tests, and I also find going over the homework very efficient. That gives me time to ask questions if I had any, and if we didn't go over questions detailedly like how we do in class, I would have had a lot of problem in understanding concepts. I can't really think of anything we can do to improve the clas...
