Yes, we're moving fast. I supply examples in class and explanations in the solutions on the wiki, as well as post keynotes and open my door to questions every day. Answer the following questions:
1) Are you preparing yourself the way you should be? If yes, how are you preparing? If not, what are you doing, and what could you be doing better?
2) The bar has been set high in the mathematics department at KIS. Do you feel like you are a strong enough student to excel in high school mathematics? Are you organizational skills excellent, adequate, or below where they need to be?

1) Yes, I think I'm preparing myself the way I should be. Well, I'm getting outside help from a hagwon, but unlike a korean hagwon, where they skip like millions of chapters to be more advanced, my hagwon is a KIS hagwon, meaning it follows along with the KIS Math Department curriculum. So me and many fellow 8th graders attend this hagwon to learn the same chapter we're learning from school.
ReplyDelete2) From the beginning of 8th grade, I thought that I would always get F's on my tests, but ever since I changed my studying habit, I received B's, but I can't seem to get higher. :D If I continue at this rate, I will most likely be able to excel in high school mathematics. I think my organizational skills are adequate, because if my skills were excellent, then I would be a straight A student. ahaha (:
Yes I think I am preparing myself the way I should be. I go over the questions that we did in class at home, and I listen to Mr. Jobe's lecture carefully every day... I feel like I am a strong enough student to excel in high school mathematics. I am very organized and prepared.:D
ReplyDelete1) Yes, I am preparing myself the way I should be. I study with a tutor twice every week. We are about a chapter ahead, and I feel like this has helped me understand Algebra very well. I also participate in class and am eager to answer problems.
ReplyDelete2) I feel like I am a strong enough student to excel in high school mathematics. I never delay homework, and although my organizational skills are adequate, I am definitely improving by managing my time wisely (I've begun setting a schedule for each week).
1. I don't think I'm preparing the way I should be, and I think I can improve more by asking questions whenever I have time. I also think I should spend more time solving problems and listening in class.
ReplyDelete2. I think I'll struggle with high school mathematics since math was always my weakest subject and my organizational skills aren't that great too.
1) Yes, I think I'm preparing well for class. I always do the homework (although there have been a few unfortunate circumstances where I forgot to do 1 problem -__-), and I bring all the necessary materials for class, including graph paper, pencils, loose-leaf paper, etc.
ReplyDelete2) Yes, I think I will be able to do well in high school mathematics. I've understood all the concepts we have gone over thoroughly, and I feel confident that I can learn all the important concepts in Geometry as well. I'm a very, very organized person (you can make sure by asking my friends), and I rarely ever lose anything. I label all homework assignments with the lesson number and date, and I go over them when I am at home.

1). I think in the most of the time, I am prepared for class. Sometimes I do forget about my Homework and some of my supplies. :( On academics wise, I think I am pretty much prepared for the daily classes by knowing the materials and understanding them.
ReplyDelete2). I do feel strong enough on mathematics. I can understand and solve the problems with out trouble. I feel confident about high school mathematics and their concepts.
I'm not much of an organizing person. I do not know why, but being a bit messy or unorganized makes me feel more confident(I can't think of the proper word =( ).
1) I think i am mostly preparing myself the way i should be. But i sometimes do my homework just the day before and i rush through them and i dont study too much for my quizzes and test.
ReplyDelete2) I dont feel to confident about math in highschool because math isn't my strongest subject. My organasation skills are average.
I think I'm preparing myself more or less well. It's good that I have extra lessons in a math hakwon that actually follows our curriculum instead of jumping around the place, and that I try and understand the concepts before I move on. I think I could ask more questions or do some extra work on the homework to better prepare myself, though.
ReplyDeleteI think I will be able to do well in high school math if I just ask more questions and get more involved in the subject, instead of being satisfied that I know the homework, because the homework isn't all of the lesson. My organizational skills are adequate, but not good enough for high school, I fear.
1) I believe I am preparing myself the way I should be, because I always try. I ask questions whenever I have any, and I also visit Mr.Jobe to ask further questions of if I have anything I don't understand. When I'm doing homework and I come across a problem I do not understand, I keep trying until I get it, or decide it would be best to ask Mr.Jobe about it. One thing I could try to improve on is manage my time and organize my busy schedule.
ReplyDelete2) From my friends I can see what we would be learning next, and I also heard that Geometry is quite different than Algebra. However, I think I will be able to survive, if not able to do well in class. My organization skills tend to move from the excellent level to adequate, back and forth.

ReplyDelete1. I don't really think I'm forcing myself to prepare myself. It is just the homework and how we go over warm-ups in class that prepares me. Just by listening in class I can understand which helps me do my homework easily. Maybe if I look over the keynotes again or review the warm-ups I can fix the mistakes I make in my homework.
2. School is school. Yes, next year is high school and yes, it will be different. However, I know I will adjust if it is too difficult for me. I am doing fine the way I am studying but if it doesn't work next year all I have to do is try harder and change my study habits so I am confident I will do well in high school. Also, without excellent organizational skills I wouldn't be doing well right now. That is not the case so organizational skills are already learned.
I think I am preparing myself very well. I review most of the things I need to do. However, I think I should do all my homework because I have been lazy with the homework this chapter.
ReplyDeleteI think my organization skills are excellent, and I feel ready for high s school. I always organize my homework and notes by date, and the chapters. Also, I always ask what I don't understand, so even if I don't know something, I do not have much trouble with it.
1) Are you preparing yourself the way you should be? If yes, how are you preparing? If not, what are you doing, and what could you be doing better?
ReplyDeleteYes i am mostly preparing myself the way i should be except that i am terribly busy these days that i lost trap on some of the assignments due. I sometimes review the previous lessons i have learned and sometimes even try to go over some of it first before class.
2) The bar has been set high in the mathematics department at KIS. Do you feel like you are a strong enough student to excel in high school mathematics? Are you organizational skills excellent, adequate, or below where they need to be?
Though i think i will find it more difficult in high school with a whole lot more assignments due and etc but i think i am pretty much prepared. My organizational skills are adequate not really great but i am working on it. They were great before, in 7th grade but from some time on it seemed like i had lost my balance :(
